ABOUT OUR HONORED GUEST PRESENTER, NICOLA PRESTON, M.A.
Nicola Preston is a Senior Lecturer in Special Educational Needs and Inclusion and a PhD researcher at the University of Northampton, UK. She is adjunct faculty for the International Institute for Restorative Practices Graduate School in the USA, teaching online postgraduate courses to international students Nicola has been involved in research and practice in restorative justice since the ideas were first introduced in the UK in 1996. At the time she was an operational police officer and involved in the introduction of restorative cautioning that led to changes in the UK juvenile justice system. She was Director of Training for the International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP) in the UK for 10 years and more recently trained as a primary school (ages 4-11) teacher, special educational needs co-ordinator and safeguarding lead working in schools in areas of high deprivation for 8 years.. Nicola has a BA (Hons) in psychology, two Master’s degrees and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Member of the British Psychological Society.
