Session 1 focuses on Sustainable Partnerships Between Community and Government Stakeholders. Brought to you by Restorative Justice on The Rise and presented by the Center for Restorative Justice and Peacemaking at the University of Minnesota.
Class One Practicing What We Value
This Session will explore our implicit biases and cultural, familial and societal conditioning about conflict and leadership, in order to shed light on why we turn towards certain conflict and leadership styles when under duress.
Restorative Leadership Matrix and Conflict Styles: implicit bias and conditioning around conflict and leadership that create tendencies to respond in particular ways when we are under duress or feeling low capacity.
“Conflicts as Property”: exploring Nils Christie’s idea of “conflicts as property” and our collective tendency to “give our conflicts away” rather than using them as fodder for community building, learning, re-calibration, and re-engagement.
